Are you a commercially savvy, client-focused leader who thrives on complexity and coaching others to success? MP+ is seeking an experienced Business Services Manager to lead a high-value client portfolio, provide strategic tax and business advice, and develop a high-performing team—while actively contributing to firm-wide growth and innovation.
This is your opportunity to join a progressive firm that embraces advisory-focused client work, values collaboration, and invests in leadership at all levels.
In this role, you will be responsible for five key pillars:
1. Client Care, Tax & Advisory Services (50%)
Lead the delivery of high-level compliance, tax, due diligence, and strategic advice across a complex portfolio.
Conduct in-depth reviews and research to ensure regulatory compliance and commercial insight.
Proactively identify client opportunities in areas such as tax planning, business restructuring, and growth strategies.
Build and nurture meaningful client relationships through regular contact and high-value conversations.
Attend client meetings, follow up on deliverables, and become a trusted advisor who deeply understands client goals.
Prepare or review complex financials/tax returns as needed and ensure seamless team coordination to meet compliance milestones.
Share industry benchmarks, articles, and updates to keep clients informed and supported.
Refer clients across departments such as Wealth Creation and Finance to ensure holistic solutions.
2. Review & Quality Oversight (25%)
Review compliance work to ensure it meets firm standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
Provide quality assurance through rigorous review, risk management, and technical mentoring.
Drive process consistency and ensure all outputs reflect the commercial and strategic value expected from MP+.
Stay up to date with technical changes in tax legislation and communicate updates to the team.
Coach team members post-review and support their technical development through constructive feedback.
3. Team Leadership & Development (10%)
Actively mentor team members to build capability, confidence, and career pathways.
Facilitate individual development plans and support technical and soft skill training.
Run internal training sessions and lead by example across communication, client service, and execution.
Support a strong, collaborative team culture by reinforcing MP+ values and encouraging open feedback.
Maintain an effective feedback loop and performance discussion rhythm across the team.
4. Workflow Planning & Resource Management (5%)
Oversee workflow management across annual, monthly, and weekly planning cycles.
Triage competing priorities, delegate work efficiently, and provide guidance through practical delays.
Ensure the team is tracking toward lodgment and project deadlines.
Communicate proactively with leadership about workflow status, escalations, or resource needs.
5. Business Development & Management Support (10%)
Onboard new clients with professionalism and clarity, setting the tone for a long-term relationship.
Represent MP+ at networking events, business forums, and client functions to elevate the firm’s presence.
Assist in implementing firm-wide strategic projects (e.g. Nixon initiatives, process automation, client experience improvements).
Identify internal efficiency opportunities and recommend system improvements.
Track and contribute to team KPIs (budgets, write-offs, rework, turnaround times).
